Lake Station Community School CorporationThank you for your interest in employment with the Lake Station Community School Corporation. Lake Station Community Schools does not accept paper applications. Applicants use the district's online Employment Application System, AppliTrack. All full-time, part-time, temporary, seasonal and substitutes employment opportunities are posted online and applications are accepted through our online system. Look at posted employment position vacancies by selecting view all vacancies. Review posted employment position vacancies; if you find an employment position vacancy in which you are interested in applying select “Apply” next to the JobID:#.
Once you are in the application portal if this is your first time applying online for a position with us select “Start” if you are returning online applicant select “Login”. You will need a valid email address for the application and expanded background check. If you don’t have an email address; gmail.com, yahoo.com, outlook.com, etc… offer FREE email accounts. Remember your email and employment AppliTrack login information. If the application requires you upload a document that you do not have; type a note (in a .doc, .docx, .txt file) explaining the status of the document needed and upload the note.
Application for Employment: Online ApplicationComplete an employment application, submit all application materials online through our AppliTrack website. Once you prepare your online applicant profile you will be able to apply for any current or future employment opportunities.
Substitutes: Online ApplicationWe are always accepting applications for substitute teachers, substitute bus drivers, substitute bus aids and substitute custodial/maintenance. Apply online.
Substitute teachers must also complete an application to the Indiana Department of Education for a Substitute Teaching Permit (good for three years) at the cost of $16.32.Indiana Department of Education Substitute Permit Directions:- Log into your LVIS account
- Click the red “Apply for a new license” box.
- Click Substitute Teacher
- Click Next
- Update your Employer by clicking Update.
- Using the dropdown, select the school corporation where you will be substitute teaching.
- Click Submit Employer
- Click Return to Application. Your employer should now be listed. Click Next
- Answer questions. If requested, upload required documentation and provide description. Click Next
- No further documentation is required. Click Next.
- If you have everything completed, you will be able to click Submit Application. If not, you need to fix what is missing. Missing materials will be in RED.
- Select Click here to pay for all pending applications
- Mark the box under Pay?
- Fill out all the billing information.
- Click Review Summary.
- Check the box next to the Refund Policy.
- Click Submit.
If at any point you need to stop the LVIS application, click Save for Later. To check the status or return to your application for a Substitute Teaching Permit, click “Application Status” on the right hand side when you are in your LVIS account.
Background Check: Complete a Background Check
All new employees are required to obtain an expanded background check, however, please do not complete one until you are notified to do so. This report will include information concerning your employment history, education qualifications, police record and/or motor vehicle record. There is a fee of about $31.00 for the background check, payable via credit or debit card; the amount may vary depending upon your specific background. The results of your background check will be automatically sent to the Lake Station Community School Corporation.
