Monthly ActivitiesStudent of the Month:Once a month PTU purchases three dozen donuts, milk, juice and coffee to serve at the Bailey Student of the Month breakfast celebrations with the parents, teachers, principal and selected students. Visit the Student of the Month website to see a current list of students.Homework Party:To celebrate the hard work of 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders we throw a homework party after the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grading terms. Students who have turned in all of their homework earn a ticket to attend the homework party. The homework party is an after school event from 3:30 to 4:00. We play a game or relay race depending on the amount of students attending. Students then get a snack, certificate and a bag of gifts. Families are responsible for providing transportation home after the party.Honor Roll Lunch:To celebrate the hard work of 4th, 5th, and 6th graders we provide an honor roll lunch for each grading period. Students who make honor roll are invited to attend the lunches from 12:00 - 12:30. Students get pizza, chips, drink and a dessert. They also get a gift bag, and the principal hands out honor roll certificates to each student.Pumpkin Decorating Contest:October brings about the "October Family Pumpkin Decorating Contest." Families are encouraged to work together to submit a pumpkin they decorate together. There are several categories each year including "Most Unique," "Best Carved," "Scariest," and more. The contest is judged at the end of the day. Winners of each category receive a trophy. Pumpkins are returned the same day so they will be home in time for Halloween.Lunch with Santa & Santa's Secret Shop:Enjoy eating lunch with Santa, having your picture taken with him, making a craft, and getting some holiday shopping done all in one day! PTU members are responsible for setting up the shop, monitoring classes during the preview day, and staffing the sales on Saturday's Lunch with Santa as well as Monday's extra sale day. They also are responsible for cleaning up afterwards. In addition, following the Christmas program they purchase flowers for the music teacher for putting together the Christmas music program each year.Field Day:Field day is a fun end of the year celebration for grades 1-4.
