Mr. Dever
I’m excited to be back at Lake Station Edison—this time as a teacher. This is my second year teaching and my first at Edison, but my second stint at the school overall. Two years ago, I was here coaching only, and now I’m back in the building full-time, teaching middle school physical education and coaching middle school football. Over the years, I’ve coached cross-country, track and field, and 7th grade girls’ basketball, working with athletes across a wide range of sports and skill levels.
I have a strong passion for strength and conditioning and focus on building programs that emphasize proper movement mechanics, long-term athlete development, injury prevention, and performance with purpose. I believe in teaching athletes to train the right way—balancing physical development with teamwork, discipline, and resilience—so they can win both on and off the field.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Valparaiso University in 2014 and my Master’s in Coaching Education from Ball State University in 2025. Before moving into the classroom, I spent five years working in a commercial gym, followed by five years owning and operating my own gym and nutrition club right here in Lake Station. Those experiences shaped my approach to coaching and teaching, blending science-based training with real-world motivation and community connection.
Whether I’m in the classroom, on the field, or in the weight room, my goal is to help students and athletes build confidence, develop lifelong healthy habits, and prepare for success in all areas of life. I’m proud to be part of the Edison family and excited to contribute both in the classroom and on the field to help our students grow stronger, move better, and build confidence that lasts a lifetime.
