Choir Letter Point System
A total of 120 points is necessary in order to receive the first band letter. After that the next level of awards go in increments of 100 points to a total amount of 520 points. Points are earned based upon the following criteria. Participation is the name of the game!
Number of Points and Criteria
35 - High School Choir: Merely being in the high school choir earns you points here.
30 - A Cappella Choir: Perform at every concert and maintain proper rehearsal attendance.
15 - Big/Little Program: Earn 15 points for successfully participating as a Big in the big/little program. Must work with their little at least once a month for a half hour and attend each semester event.
10 - Solo Ensemble: Earn 10 points per event for both district and state.
10 - Fund Raising: Sell your quota. Expected quota will be announced at the beginning of each fundraiser. (5 points per fundraiser)
10 - Choir Leadership Positions: This includes section leaders and choir officers. These jobs are demanding and require dedication, time and effort. This is a reward for a job that receives little thanks.
10 - Music Crew: Attend all music performances and help with sound, lights and stage.
10 - Private Lessons: Take private lessons for the entire school year.
10 - Music Camp: Attend a music camp outside of the Edison Band Department during the school year or summer.
10 - Honors Choir: Audition for and honors choir. An additional 10 points will be awarded if the student makes and performs with the choir.
5 - Community Performance: Perform a solo or as part of a group outside of the normal choir concerts for a community or church event. (Must be approved by Miss Brummel)
5 - Attendance of a Fine Arts Event in the Community: Attend a community fine arts event and bring in a copy of the program of the event to receive credit.
