• 6th Grade Band

    GRADES OFFERED: 06

    PREREQUISITES: Completion of all required forms and meetings to be enrolled, including but not limited to - Parent-Student Meeting, Handbook Signature Form, and Instrument Fitting Session. Transfer students need to have individual meetings with the director to assess musical knowledge and instrument fitting as soon as possible.

    COURSE DESCRIPTION: Learn the basics of musicianship and music theory as well as the correct techniques for playing on brass and percussion instruments (as of Fall 2025). Developing instrumental techniques, music reading skills, and band fundamentals, as well as performing at band concerts.

     

    7th Grade Band

    GRADES OFFERED: 07

    PREREQUISITES: Have successfully completed 6th grade band and received approval from the band department. Transfer students need to have individual meetings with the director to assess musical knowledge and instrument fitting as soon as possible.

    COURSE DESCRIPTION: Learn intermediate to advanced musicianship as well as expanded techniques for performing on brass, and percussion instruments (no woodwinds after Spring 2026). Developing more instrumental techniques, advanced music reading skills and band fundamentals, as well as performing at band concerts.

     

    8th Grade Band

    GRADES OFFERED: 08

    PREREQUISITES: Have successfully completed 6th and 7th grade bands and received approval from the band department. Transfer students need to have individual meetings with the director to assess musical knowledge and instrument fitting as soon as possible.

    COURSE DESCRIPTION: Learn advanced musicianship, as well as trained proficiency in brass and percussion instruments (no woodwinds after Spring 2027). Developing advanced instrumental techniques, advanced music reading skills, and band skills necessary for High School band and being a lifelong musician. Students will also perform at band concerts, community events, and band contests.

     

    High School Band

    GRADES OFFERED: 09-12

    PREREQUISITES: Have successfully completed 6th, 7th, and 8th grade bands and received approval from the band department. Transfer students need to have individual meetings with the director to assess musical knowledge and instrument fitting as soon as possible.

    COURSE DESCRIPTION: Learn and practice advanced musicianship, trained musical proficiency, and advanced performance techniques on brass and percussion instruments (no woodwinds after the class of 2030). Perform for band concerts, school athletic events, community events, and competitions.
